Aviva Solutions is shortlisted for B2B Agency of the Year – Here’s Why

Aviva Solutions share their year and what makes them an award nominated Agency of the Year.

We’re driven by building digital experiences that make a difference. So when the European Agency Awards shortlisted Aviva Solutions for B2B Agency of the Year, it felt like a moment to pause and celebrate what that really means. We consider this more than just industry recognition: it’s a testament to what can be achieved when technology, teamwork, and trust come together.

Our nomination follows the launch of a powerful new B2B commerce platform for Plaisio, Greece’s leading retailer in consumer electronics, office supplies, and mobile devices. With over 50.000 organizations browsing a catalogue of 40.000 products, Plaisio needed a solution that could handle immense complexity while still facilitating platform growth. That was our signal to build a Composable Commerce platform based on MACH architecture, selecting best-of-breed tools to create a flexible, fast, and scalable solution.

We could use flowery language to tell you the benefits of this technique, but we’ll just let the results speak for themselves:

  • +10% total order increase
  • +31% Average Order Value
  • +19% Average Basket Size
  • +55% daily revenue

These numbers represent the impact of our collaboration, shared ambition, and confirm the strength of our approach. We feel rewarded by seeing Plaisio’s growth, and satisfied knowing that their customers benefit from a faster, more personalized buying experience, combined with having increased customer support and user insights.

Weekly meetings, short communication lines, and lots of coffee

Building a platform of this scale was a journey that demanded creativity, dedication, and close cooperation, not just within our own team, but also with Plaisio’s and our technology partners. With weekly meetings, short lines of communication, and tackling challenges together, we managed to create a truly seamless collaboration. And let’s just say the coffee machine worked almost as hard as our developers.

Architecture is everything

The platform’s Composable architecture allows Plaisio to adapt faster and scale smarter. With a combination of Contentstack for headless content management, commercetools for product and order orchestration, and Constructor for personalized search and recommendations, the system is both robust and flexible. It processes millions of pages and real-time price updates within a second, even during peak traffic, without compromising on performance or user experience.

Joost Meijles, Lead Software Architect, chimes in that “at Aviva Solutions, we believe that technology is only as valuable as the results it delivers. So, what do we mean by ‘flexible’, ‘fast’, and ‘scalable’?

A platform for a retailer of this size operates on an extremely high level. It has to facilitate more than 20 million page requests every month, be able to update price and product information within 100 milliseconds, and set 3000 filters in a catalogue of 40.000 products. Some requirements were so high, that there were no existing solutions that could facilitate Plaisio’s request. For example, the platform has to show custom price information per organization signed in to the platform. This means that the platform needs to facilitate 3.75 billion unique prices. Luckily, we’re no strangers to custom development. We built a unique solution to solve this challenge, allowing us to truly build the platform Plaisio needed.

It’s not over yet.

The journey doesn’t end here. As a full service digital agency, we remain closely involved long after a platform goes live. Continuously monitoring performance, optimizing processes, and improving the user experience, we make sure that we deliver the best possible result.

The B2B platform’s success has even become a blueprint for future innovation. The knowledge and experience gained from building Plaisio’s B2B platform is now being applied to rework their B2C commerce environment. We’re also implementing the same Composable approach for other clients who aim to combine flexibility, scalability, and measurable business growth.
