At Webit, we have always believed that development is more than a technical discipline. It is a way of thinking. And when you apply that thinking to problems that genuinely matter, the results can go far beyond a well-functioning website.
That belief is at the heart of our nomination for Dev Agency of the Year at the European Agency Awards 2026.
A boutique agency with over a decade of craft
Webit was founded in Antwerp. More than ten years later, we remain a deliberate choice: a boutique agency of five specialists, fully focused on the clients we work with and the work we deliver.
What makes us unusual is simple: every single person on our team can code. Our designer thinks in code. Our project lead writes code. There are no silos, no handover friction, no miscommunication between disciplines. Just a team that shares a common language and a common standard.
That stability shows in our retention. Our longest-standing team member has been with Webit for ten years. Clients work with the same people year after year, and that continuity is one of the most underrated qualities an agency can offer.
Development in service of society
The projects we are most proud of are not necessarily the most complex technically. They are the ones where our work made a real difference for real people.
Take our work for Sue Advocaten. Belgian legislation around sexual abuse cases is extraordinarily complex and has changed multiple times over the years. Victims frequently come forward years or even decades after the fact, often assuming their case is no longer eligible for prosecution. That assumption is not always correct, but verifying it requires deep legal expertise even for seasoned lawyers.
Sue Advocaten asked us to change that. We immersed ourselves in years of Belgian legislative history, translating every relevant legal change into code. The result is a free, fully anonymous calculator — no registration, no data capture — that makes this calculation accessible to anyone who needs it. The tool was picked up by HLN, Belgium’s largest national newspaper, and has been recognised within the legal community as unique. No equivalent tool exists.
For Sue Advocaten, it confirmed their expertise and standing within the legal world. For us, the measure of success is simpler: if even one victim feels empowered to come forward because of this tool, we have done our job.
Then there is Eleonoor, a Flemish non-profit that organises meals for families who have lost a baby, run entirely by volunteers and funded purely through donations. As their network grew to hundreds of volunteers across Flanders, coordination had become unworkable. We built their website and are currently developing a platform that automatically matches incoming requests to nearby volunteers, replacing a chaotic WhatsApp group with a system that lets Eleonoor focus entirely on the families they serve.
And Reset, a post-partum fitness platform we co-created from scratch with a client who had an idea and a vision. What began as a side project now has over 5,000 active subscribers: a full ecosystem of training programmes, live sessions, e-learnings, nutrition guidance and gamification, built together from a blank page.
Giving back, every year
Our commitment to meaningful work is not limited to client projects.
Every year, Webit opens a call for non-profit organisations to submit their case. Together as a team, we select one and build their digital infrastructure completely free of charge. It is not a marketing exercise. It is a deliberate, recurring commitment, because we believe that doing meaningful work is something you choose, every year.
Over the past two years we have supported Eleonoor VZW and CAR Ter Eecken VZW, an organisation helping children with learning difficulties.
What this nomination means to us
Being nominated for Dev Agency of the Year at the European Agency Awards is something we are incredibly proud of, not because of the recognition itself, but because of what it represents.
It is proof that a small boutique agency, with a close-knit team and a clear sense of purpose, can build things that matter. That you do not need scale to have impact. That five people who care deeply about their craft can stand alongside the best agencies in Europe.

“We are not the biggest agency, and we never set out to be. But we are a team that genuinely cares about the work we do and the people we do it for. This nomination reflects that, and it means a great deal to all of us.”
